If you’re mailing postcards with EDDM® Retail, one of the most important steps is properly filling out your USPS® facing slips. These slips tell the Post Office exactly where each bundle of postcards is going—and they’re required for every bundle you drop off.
Here’s a quick breakdown of how to complete a facing slip:
Top Section
-
ZIP Code – Write the ZIP Code of the delivery area for this bundle.
-
Route – Enter the USPS carrier route from your order (example: C009).
-
Delivery Type – Choose either Residential or Residential/Business.
Middle Section
-
Date – Add the date you’ll be dropping off your postcards.
-
Bundle Size – Write the number of postcards in the bundle (50 or 100 is recommended, but the last bundle may be smaller).
-
Total Bundles – Write how many total bundles you prepared for this route, then number them (e.g., Bundle 1 of 5, 2 of 5, etc.).
Bottom Section
-
Do Not Deliver Address – Leave this space blank.
-
Business Name & Post Office – Add your company name and the Post Office location where you’ll drop off the mail.
That’s it! Just place a facing slip on top of each rubber-banded bundle. Remember—you need one completed slip for every bundle for every route.
